dress with quilted bodice

August's pattern for the Carefree Clothes for Girls sew-along was the dress with quilted bodice.  for the dress i sewed, i used linen (in all different shades of brown) from my fabric stash, vintage buttons & gold embroidery floss.  the changes i made to the pattern were:  i cut off the shoulder straps & added my own attaching them with vintages buttons, the quilting on the bodice was done with only vertical stitching, & the for the lining underneath i omitted the ruffle.  fun dress !

I am such a pushover for that color scheme....it just makes me want to LIVE in neutrals. :-) I've already written out over on flickr how impressive I think your changes & details are --- but I'll say it again here. Very, very pretty -- the colors, the stripes, the stitches, the alterations -- wonderfully done. :- )
Adorable! I love everything about it ;-)
Wow, this is gorgeous - I love it! Those different shades of neutrals are right up my alley, and I am having a major linen moment over here right now too. I also like your photography - your little model must be very happy with her new dress :)

SIMPLICITY INDEED --100% linen and the subtle colors present a FRENCH stylist look, especially charming for a young girl. You created exquisite touches with the hand quilting done in stripes on the bodice. CREATIVE and UNIQUE !
You should be extra PROUD of your talents. BRAVO ! ! !
